Reflection 1: If someday I did have the chance to go back and adjust my essay, I would do so. As you continue school, you learn new things and new styles you like and want to input them in your work. By Mrs. Coulter teaching us, we have learned new types of phrases within a sentence, like prepositional, participle, and appositive phrases. With sentence structures and complex vocabulary, redoing this essay would turn it from what it is now to something probably a 10th grader would write.

Reflection 2: This piece, about authority figures, I would say was the piece I enjoyed the most this year. When writing this piece, I just let my words flow and my mind wonder. According to Mrs. Coulter, I had a “good formula” and I could “go back and add more details to each example if time allows” which is good advice. Personally, I had a hard time choosing examples because of the time and also because I was overcomplicating it. If I had a few extra minutes to go back and make this essay better, I would! If I had a fun time writing the piece, then going back and adjusting it would just as exhilarating. I love writing (depending on what I’m writing about) and to correct my mistakes to make my essays or stories even better.

Reflection 3: Overall, as I go through High School, I upgrade my writing skills and every time I write I even impress myself. Looking back at my works, I can say that I definitely have improved and that makes me overjoyed to see how I’ve learned. However, I still need to work on some things, as every writer does. Whenever I write something, I think I’m this great writer and I try to overcomplicate things so I end up either messing up the message I’m trying to send or not thinking of enough information to supply backbone to my main idea. With my writing skills, I think I could be a young adult writer. A couple of years ago, I took a career test and with all the questions, it said I could be a writer so that could be an option for me. I like writing and imagining, so I think if being a Software Engineer doesn’t work out I may get into being a Writer.
